🇮🇳 Government Scheme

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

India's flagship residential rooftop solar subsidy scheme — up to ₹78,000 direct bank transfer, plus up to 300 free electricity units every month.

What is PM Surya Ghar Yojana?

Launched by the Government of India in February 2024, PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is a central scheme under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) that provides a Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) subsidy to households installing grid-connected rooftop solar. The scheme targets one crore (10 million) homes and is designed to make solar affordable while cutting household electricity bills — potentially to zero for many families.

Central Subsidy Amount by System Size

System Size Central Subsidy (PM Surya Ghar)
1 kW₹30,000
2 kW₹60,000
3 kW or above₹78,000 (maximum, capped)

Note: The central subsidy is capped at ₹78,000 regardless of actual system size beyond 3 kW.

🎉 Extra Subsidy for Uttar Pradesh Residents

If you live in Uttar Pradesh, you don't stop at the central subsidy. The state government, through UPNEDA (Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency), adds a further top-up subsidy on top of the central PM Surya Ghar amount — making UP one of the most attractive states in India for rooftop solar.

System Size UP State Subsidy (UPNEDA)
1 kW₹15,000
2 kW or above₹30,000 (flat)

Combined Subsidy (Central + UP State)

System Size Central UP State Combined Total
1 kW₹30,000₹15,000₹45,000
2 kW₹60,000₹30,000₹90,000
3 kW or above₹78,000₹30,000₹1,08,000

Since AdityaOn is based in Greater Noida West and serves customers across Uttar Pradesh, we handle both the central and UP state subsidy applications together — you deal with one team, not two separate government processes.

What You Get

Direct Bank Transfer

Subsidy is credited directly to your bank account, typically 30-45 days after DISCOM commissioning — not an upfront discount.

Up to 300 Free Units/Month

A correctly sized 3kW system can generate enough to cover up to 300 units of monthly consumption.

Concessional Loans

Beneficiaries are eligible for collateral-free bank loans at concessional interest rates.

Eligibility

  • You must be an Indian citizen with a residential electricity connection.
  • Your sanctioned load must typically be 10 kW or below for standard residential subsidy.
  • Equipment installed must be ALMM-listed (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers).
  • You must not have availed the subsidy previously for the same connection.

How AdityaOn Helps

We manage the entire subsidy application on your behalf — registration on the national portal, DISCOM coordination, net-metering application, and post-installation documentation — so you don't have to navigate any of the paperwork yourself.
