Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about going solar with AdityaOn.
General
How much can I save with rooftop solar? +
Most homeowners cut their electricity bill by 70-90% from day one. Use our savings calculator on the homepage for a personalized estimate based on your monthly bill.
How long does installation take? +
Once you approve the design and quotation, physical installation is typically completed within a day for most residential systems, depending on system size and site conditions. Net metering approval from the DISCOM can take longer and is handled by our team.
What maintenance does a rooftop solar system need? +
Rooftop solar needs minimal maintenance - mainly periodic panel cleaning to remove dust (more frequent in North India than cleaner climates) and an annual visual/electrical check. We offer ongoing support via WhatsApp and your customer dashboard.
Can I monitor my system's performance after installation? +
Yes - once your order is set up, you can log in to your customer dashboard to track your project status, quotations, and message our support team directly.
Subsidy
Is government subsidy available for rooftop solar? +
Yes. Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, residential installations get a central subsidy of up to Rs 78,000, plus an additional UP state (UPNEDA) top-up of up to Rs 30,000 for UP-based customers - up to Rs 1,08,000 combined for eligible systems.
Do you handle the subsidy paperwork? +
Yes - our team manages the entire subsidy application process on your behalf, from portal registration to disbursement tracking.
Technical
What is the difference between on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid solar? +
On-grid systems connect to the DISCOM grid with no battery and are the most cost-effective for most homes. Off-grid systems run entirely on batteries with no grid connection, used for remote sites. Hybrid systems combine grid connection with battery backup for use during outages.
What roof types can you install on? +
We install on RCC (flat concrete), tin/metal sheet, and tiled roofs, using mounting structures suited to each roof type.
How much roof space do I need? +
As a rough guide, 1 kW of solar typically needs about 80-100 sq. ft. of shadow-free roof area, though this varies by panel efficiency and layout.
How long do solar panels last? +
Quality panels typically carry a 25-year performance warranty, with a realistic usable life often extending beyond that at gradually reduced output.
